WSDQ Contest Rules
1. How to Enter the Contest:
a. For contests conducted on WSDQ, entry requirements will be announced on air along with the on air announcement for that specific contest. Winners will be determined in accordance with the criteria set forth in the on-air announcement in which participation was solicited.
b. WSDQ is not responsible for lost, stolen, mutilated, destroyed, misdelivered, postage due, illegible, incomplete or untimely entries. Station is not responsible for entries not received due to difficulty accessing the internet, service outages or delays, computer difficulties or other technological glitches. Station is not responsible for any lost, disconnected, dropped, misdirected or incomplete telephone calls. Entrants may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the station.
2. Eligibility Restrictions:
a. Each contest is open to all WSDQ listeners who are legal United States citizens 18 years of age or older and who reside in the WSDQ listening area. Some exceptions to age may be permitted due to the nature of the contest (i.e. - birthday prizes, and some others). Employees of WSDQ, its licensee, and parent company, Tennessee Valley Broadcasting, their affiliated entities, affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations and the members of their immediate families are ineligible to participate or win. Immediate family shall include spouse, parents, children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren and any other person residing within the same household. However, Station shall have the right to change these eligibility requirements based on the individual contest in question.
b. Listeners are eligible to win a WSDQ contest only once every thirty (30) days. Only one winner per household is permitted in any contest, with exception of birthday or anniversary contests/prizes.
c. Participants in the contest must possess valid government issued photo identification and sign a liability release as a condition of receiving any prize. Depending on prize awarded a travel release may also be required. Prize winners must also provide a valid social security number and will be required to complete an IRS W-9 form.
d. For internet based contest entry, to enter on-line you must enter your first name and last name, complete address, city, state, zip code, home telephone number and a valid e-mail address in the on-line entry form. One Internet entry per person and one Internet entry per e-mail address. Internet entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the e-mail address by an internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization that is responsible by assigning e-mail addresses or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
e. Winner must meet all eligibility requirements set forth herein.
3. Prizes:
a. Prizes will be announced within the specific contest’s on air announcement.
b. All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up between 10am and 6pm Central Time on Tuesdays and Thursdays (excluding holidays) at the office of Tennessee Valley Broadcasting -- WEPG, 105 N. Ash Avenue, South Pittsburg, TN 37380, unless otherwise noted or arranged. If arranged, prizes may also be picked up during regular business hours at the Sequatchie-Dunlap Chamber of Commerce, corner of Rankin Avenue and Cherry Street, Dunlap, TN. Any prize or prize certificate not claimed within fourteen (14) days of winning will be automatically forfeited by the winner, unless a prize has an expiration date, in which case a prize may be forfeited earlier than 14 days from winning. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written or verbal consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its arrival. WSDQ is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.
c. Contest prizes are non transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for or redeemed for cash.
d. Winners will receive 1099 IRS Tax form if the total of all prizes won for the current year equal more than $600 in value.
e. Prizes are limited solely to those items explicitly set forth herein and shall not include any and all other expenses, incidentals or taxes that may arise out of the winner’s receipt of this prize.
f. Prizes are awarded as is, with no written or express warranty.
4. Selection of Winners:
a. Decisions of station management with respect to the contest are final.
b. Winners are selected based on the selection criteria set forth in the on air announcement for a Station contest.
c. The method for the selection of winners varies from contest to contest
d. Odds of winning vary from contest to contest.
5. Conditions:
a. Payment of all federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners will be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent. Failure or refusal to execute the release will result in winner forfeiting the prize. Photo identification and social security number of the Grand Prize winner may also be required in order to collect the prize.
b. By participating in the contest, the winner or winners (and their guest or traveling companion, if any) agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and to sign a publicity release prior to acceptance of the prize.
c. Contest winners (and their guests or travel companions, if any) will be required to sign a liability release prior to acceptance of any prize valued at $600.00 or greater or which prize includes the provision of transportation, whether or not such transportation is provided by WSDQ. Pursuant to the liability release, the winners will agree to hold WSDQ, its licensee, and parent company, Tennessee Valley Broadcasting, their affiliated companies and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.
d. For Internet contests, WSDQ, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the WSDQ Web Site or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. The station further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if it is not capable of completion as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort.
e. The Station reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify the contest rules and dates at any time for any reason. Material modifications shall be announced on-air, when practical. By participating in this contest, you agree to be bound by these contest rules, any modifications thereof, and by all other rules imposed by Station management.
f. No purchase is necessary. The contest is void where prohibited.
g. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant's disqualification, at the sole discretion of WSDQ.
h. WSDQ is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of a prize.
i. Copies of the written contest rules and a list of all winners are available during regular business hours at the main studio of WSDQ, 105 N. Ash Avenue, South Pittsburg, TN 37380 or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to WSDQ.
